About CleanText

CleanText is a focused browser tool made by an independent developer. It helps people inspect and remove invisible Unicode characters, zero-width marks, hidden directional formatting, and HTML metadata tags from text.

Why this tool exists

Text copied between AI assistants, websites, documents, and publishing systems can contain characters that do not appear on screen. Those characters may affect search, comparison, formatting, or downstream processing. CleanText makes the cleanup visible by reporting how many characters were removed and how many special spaces were normalized.

How processing works

The standard cleaning action runs in the visitor's browser. Pasted text and uploaded text files are not sent to our server for that operation. The separate AI rewrite action is optional; when selected, it sends the current text to Cloudflare Workers AI to produce a meaning-preserving rewrite.

Who operates the site

CleanText is independently developed and operated. Questions, corrections, and accessibility feedback are welcome through the contact page.
